Today’s third party services such as chat applications, email services and cloud storage unnecessarily expose your data to access, manipulation, and theft beyond your control, putting your data and your company at risk. Many of these service providers monetize and share the data with other companies as defined in their terms and conditions – the same ones you agreed to by using their service. Furthermore, these service providers use redundant servers to store data outside of your jurisdiction, some of which will be under the domain of foreign governments. The terms and conditions of a third party service is intended to protect the service provider not you. True ownership of data means that you control where it is held, who can access it and what happens to it when you delete it.
