I’m a commercial litigator based in New York City. I have studied and analyzed drug policy and reform activist since the early 1990’s with a special focus on cannabis and psychedelics. I am of counsel to Hoban Law Group, a national cannabis business law boutique firm.

THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

I created the field of “psychedelic law” in 2010 when I named my blog New Amsterdam Psychedelic Law.

In October 2012 I deconstructed the DEA’s legal theory justifying the permanent prohibition of cannabis. See Madmen Rule You. In January 2013 my analysis was proven accurate. See The Meaning of the DEA’s Recent Victory in ASA v DEA.
